Creamer: Great To Get Another Chance Todayby Cork Sports News December 8, 2019
Leeds make the trip to Dublin this afternoon for an FAI Intermediate Cup 3rd Round Replay in Blanchardstown against Verona.
It’s a tough task on paper having failed to finish the job at home two weeks ago but Leeds striker, Jonathan Creamer is grateful for a second game.
“I suppose from the first game, we found out Verona’s strengths and weaknesses and where we can exploit them today.
“Our own performance in the first game wasn’t up to standard and it was a great opportunity to progress, thankfully we’ve another chance tomorrow,” said Creamer.
Home advantage in the next round is the carrot that awaits the winners and that is not lost on Creamer either.
“A home tie in the next round against another Dublin side, St Kevin’s Boys is a great incentive but it will mean nothing unless we put in a performance tomorrow.
“We need to focus our attention on beating Verona first and then we can start looking at St Kevin’s Boys.
“It’s been a mixed start to the season, around half the squad and management have only come in since the end of September and we were left in a bad position but hopefully we can get a few points on the board in the coming weeks and get back on track.
“Promotion is probably not realistic at this point but we will make sure we avoid relegation before thinking about that,” concluded Creamer.
