O’Driscoll: We May Never Get This Chance Again

by March 23, 2019

Cian O’Driscoll is that energetic player that can get from box to box and has established himself as a permanent fixture in a rejuvenated Rockmount side that are eyeing major prizes again.

It doesn’t get much bigger than an FAI Intermediate Cup semi-final against Avondale and O’Driscoll is expecting a special game.

“I think it will be a tight match at the start but I feel when both teams settle down and get with the pace of the game it should be great match.

“There should be a huge crowd too and that will add to the atmosphere and it will be a fantastic occasion,” said O’Driscoll.

Rockmount recently beat Avondale 3-0 but Cian doesn’t see that as a factor in this game.

“Yes the last game counts for nothing, I think we all said that as soon as the draw was made.

“We all know Avondale are a very good side and will be well up for it, as for myself, I’ll be treating the game the same as any other match,” said Cian.

It’s always a massive game between Avondale and Rockmount and Cian has no qualm in declaring this the biggest of the lot.

“Yes, to be fair in the six years I’m here this is the biggest game and we may never get this chance again so we’ll have to give it everthing to win, the preparations have gone well, everyone is buzzing and with such a big squad everyone is pushing each other to get into that starting 11, concluded Cian.
